EDI Program Welcomes New Advisory Board

Northwestern's Master of Science in Engineering Design Innovation (EDI) program prepares students to lead the design of future innovative products, services and technologies. In support of that goal, EDI is proud to welcome its new advisory board, composed of design leaders from a broad variety of transformational technology, service, and product design companies and non-profit organizations.

The board make-up aims to reflect both the diverse interests and experiences of the student body and also the variety of industries and design disciplines EDI students pursue after graduation. Members provide input and guidance to program leadership on strategy, industry engagement, and preparing students for emerging roles in design and innovation.

"In the spirit of service design and understanding our stakeholders, the EDI Advisory Board brings a critical perspective to the program," said EDI Studio Director Amy O'Keefe. "We are grateful for the guidance our Board members offer as we continue to iterate program offerings to align with industry needs and trends."

In conjunction with the first Board meeting in November, members participated in a panel discussion with students sharing stories of their own professional paths as well as specific insights into design innovation and design leadership.  Board members also engage with students through studio talks, project partnerships, and recruiting-related activities.

The EDI Advisory Board meets annually in Evanston and engages with program directors, students, faculty, and alumni throughout the year.
