Why EDI?
Iris’s interest in human-centered design grew from her background in industrial and product design. Through past design projects, she began to realize that creating a functional product was only part of the challenge. Understanding how people perceive, use, and feel about a product can be just as important as its form or technical performance. This shift led her to become increasingly interested in user research, interaction design, and the broader experience surrounding a product.
She chose EDI because the program brings together design, engineering, research, and technology in a highly collaborative environment. She hopes to use this interdisciplinary approach to expand beyond traditional product design, strengthen her skills in human-centered research and UX, and explore how insights about people can be translated into both digital and physical experiences.
