Chris SpauldingFront End Innovation Engineer II, Milwaukee Tool

About

Chris Spaulding is a Front-End Innovation Engineer at Milwaukee Tool with a design approach rooted in advocating for end-users. His work begins on job sites, observing day-to-day workflows and pain points, then translating those insights into immersive, hands-on experiences that help internal teams understand and empathize with real user needs. This empathetic, story-driven process fuels focused, iterative concepts that tackle end-user challenges and shape product strategy—contributing to successful launches across lighting, fans, vacuums, and chargers.

Before joining Milwaukee Tool and completing Northwestern’s EDI program (’19), Chris served as a Project Manager at Briggs & Stratton, leading global-enterprise and local departmental continuous improvement initiatives. There, he refined his ability to untangle complex workflows, enhance efficiency, and better understand how system-level decisions impact end-users.

Outside of work, Chris can be found remodeling his 100-year-old home or tackling woodworking projects, bridging the gap between old and new craftsmanship. He also enjoys biking, hiking, and spending time at beer gardens (a true staple Milwaukee experience) with his wife and their dog, Maple.
