Macie Mancini, EDI '24Industrial Design, Product Experience and Interaction, Human-Centered Design

About

Macie considers herself a lifelong student with a drive to make the planet a more sustainable place. She strives to accomplish this by designing user-friendly products that reduce waste and promote the use of green energy. She also hopes that her future innovations will strengthen circular economies in the green energy sector. Macie believes that a solution for climate change and waste reduction lies at the intersection between the needs of consumers and the needs of the planet. She sees innovative design as the missing link that will allow every individual to conveniently contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and live zero-waste lives.

Why EDI?

Macie chose EDI because the structure and course selection fit her needs as an equally creative and analytical person. Macie loves the aspect of engineering that involves the fabrication of a physical product, and she finds that she further enjoys more creative activities like knitting, woodworking, and graphic design. She was thrilled that EDI also accommodated and encouraged her educational background in the sciences and humanities without requiring a degree in engineering.
