Lucas Iezzi, EDI '24Consumer Products, Design Engineering, Physical Product Design

About

Lucas is a maker at heart and has been doing so for as long as he can remember. As he has matured, his medium of creation has expanded from LEGO bricks to laser cutters, 3D printers, and electronics. His motivation for making things is the reaction those things create in others. He hopes to take this into his future career and make products that both shock people and invoke their curiosity.

Why EDI?

Lucas chose EDI to provide a human centered direction to the technical skills he has developed while pursuing his undergraduate engineering degree. He believes that product design gives a purpose to engineering that can directly improve the lives of people everywhere. Being both an engineer and a designer will allow him to speak the language of mechanical design as well as creative design and will improve his ability to work in technically diverse teams. After meeting everyone in the program, Lucas was excited that the cohort has all kinds of different backgrounds and everyone shares a passion for design.

Education

BS, Mechanical Engineering, University of Wisconsin Madison.

Experience

New Product Development Engineer, Fiskars; Design Engineer, Hinchey Design Co.
