Rachel is passionate about empowering and connecting people through designing with empathy. Raised in Beijing and Los Angeles, Rachel found comfort in people, more specifically in connecting with those different from herself. With a passion for understanding human interactions with the world, Rachel is committed to create meaningful human-centered experiences through designing for curiosity with empathy.
Why EDI?
Rachel is drawn to EDI because of the program’s intimate cohort size, studio-based interdisciplinary curriculum, and extensive maker facilities. Her interest in human-centered design stems from a convergence of her academic background in technology and innovation and a deep-seated commitment to addressing challenges at the intersection of tech and human experiences.
Rachel is driven to explore innovative and tangible approaches to human-technology interactions. At EDI, Rachel looks forward to further developing her technical skills and mastering all the tools in the Shop, collaborating and learning from the diverse cohort, and emerging as a T-shaped hybrid design practitioner.
