Chloe Haderlie, EDI '23Design Research, Product Design, Consulting

About

Chloe lives by the philosophy that you don’t need anyone’s permission to be a designer. With a mixed background in business and social impact, she discovered it’s the people who design the most influential products. So she became a designer herself! She believes that at the deepest level we are all connected as human beings — to one another and the earth. This is becoming more apparent through our global operations and lifestyles. Chloe is convinced that approaches like design thinking will be the key to discovering solutions that allow us to live harmoniously in our modern world. She hopes to become adept at putting impactful solutions into action in a consulting or creative leadership role after the program.

Why EDI?

Chloe was exposed to design thinking through the Social Innovation Center on her campus during her undergraduate degree. Since then, she has become fascinated by the potential unlocked when you gather individuals from varied backgrounds and equip them with creative confidence. Chloe chose the EDI program at Northwestern University because it puts these principles into practice and will allow her to get experience in becoming a leader in problem solving and creating for impact.

Education

BS, Marketing Management, Brigham Young University

Experience

Social issues writer and editor, Ballard Center for Social Impact; community experience designer, WeWork.

Misc

Chloe has a never ending curiosity and would rather stay up all night learning than sleep if she could. She recently got into ceramics and is creating her own line on Instagram (@clae.ceramics). She’s a homebody and a sucker for a good night, a documentary, and some ice cream.
