About

Yuzhou seeks to explore creativity in the world of technology and learn the essence of design engineering. His background in design optimization, CAD, and mechatronics motivated him to challenge himself with the field of UI/UX. With experiences in academic research and interests in visual arts, he wishes to better understand users and build useful and enjoyable products. Human-centered design, to him, is what will guide him through that journey as well as the inspiration towards simple, accessible, and sustainable design that positively impacts the world.

Why EDI?

What drew Yuzhou to EDI is its project-oriented curriculum and the abundance of opportunities for hands-on and teamwork experience. The program’s diverse cohorts, incredible mentors, and strong dedication in producing a new generation of leading design engineers are what captivated him. Moreover, Yuzhou is someone who believes in the power of influence. Surrounded by many like-minded, creative people, he wishes to thrive in that environment and become a better designer, who might one day create effective solutions to real-world problems.

Misc

Yuzhou can write and draw with both hands. His dream is to do a spacewalk and his favorite movies are Interstellar and The Dark Knight. He also enjoys learning art history.
