Madison Doucette, EDI '23Design Research, Product Design, Social Impact

About

As an undergraduate, Madison combined interests in engineering, anatomy, and aesthetics and pursued a major in integrated engineering studies — a choose-your-own-adventure of sorts. She strives to reach intersectionality in her design work by focusing on holistic solutions to problems through the lens of human-centered design. She believes that the solution to an engineering problem should not only meet the metrics and requirements, but should also tell the story of the user and their experience in any way it can.

Why EDI?

Madison chose EDI to continue developing technical engineering skills while working in a creative space that fosters outside-the-box thinking and solutions. While she loves to be hands-on with prototyping and manufacturing, she looks forward to supplementing her tactile skill set with a deeper understanding of the human-centered design and project management. She believes EDI will allow the perfect foundation to innovate in a variety of industries en route to honing in on where her interests may ultimately direct her work upon completion of the EDI curriculum.

Education

BS, Integrated Engineering Studies, Northwestern University

Misc

If Madison is not in the prototyping shop, she is likely to be found somewhere outside: rock climbing, snowboarding, longboarding, hiking, camping, or any combination of the preceding.
