About
Growing up immersed in art taught Shuhan to appreciate creativity, observation, and craftsmanship, and studying industrial design transformed that creative foundation into a structured design process. She is now a product designer who is passionate about creating products that improve everyday life through thoughtful design. Through Shuhan's professional experience bringing consumer products from concept to manufacturing, she has learned to balance creativity with technical feasibility. Fascinated by how people interact with everyday objects, Shuhan believes that even small design decisions can meaningfully improve daily experience. Why EDI?
Shuhan's passion for human-centered design began with industrial design, but her professional experience revealed that meaningful innovation requires more than good design alone. Working across the product development process and collaborating with engineers sparked a deeper interest in engineering principles, systems thinking, and design within complex technical and business constraints. Northwestern's EDI program stood out because of its emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of engineering, design, and business. Through the EDI program, she hopes to strengthen the connection between design vision and technical understanding, preparing her to work across integrated physical and digital experiences for emerging technologies.
Experience before EDI
