Max Breuninger, EDI '28Consumer Products, Physical Product Design, Sustainability

About
Max’s constant curiosity has always found a home in engineering, driving him to understand not just how things work, but how they can work better for the people who use them. He wants his career to be shaped by that curiosity alongside compassion and a commitment to sustainable innovation, designing products that are thoughtful about both the people they serve and the world they exist in.
Why EDI?
From childhood toys built from paper and tape to household solutions printed on his own 3D printer, Max has always had a passion for creating things that better the world around him. Coupled with an innate curiosity about how the world works, this passion drew him to study engineering at Dartmouth.
Max's first engineering course introduced him to product design and ignited a passion he had always felt but had never been able to define. That experience, along with a subsequent design capstone, showed him how curiosity could be transformed into thoughtful solutions built around real people's needs.
Max sees EDI as the place to bring curiosity, compassion, and sustainability together into a single design philosophy. Through EDI, he hopes to deepen his passion for user-centered design while joining a close-knit cohort of like-minded designers while moving closer to his goal of becoming a consumer product designer whose work is shaped by both empathy and technical skill.
