Why EDI?

Michelle chose the EDI program because she’s passionate about using her design and analytical skills to make a meaningful difference in the world. After working as a designer in advertising for nearly two years, she realized that while she loved the work, it was very creative and fast-paced, but something was missing. It didn't have the purpose-driven impact she was seeking. Her journey then led her to step away from advertising and work with her father at his mechanic shop, where she gained hands-on experience in problem-solving. During that time, she also developed her sustainability-focused passion projects. She discovered her deep love for solving real-world problems through human-centered design. She is attracted to the unique, interdisciplinary, hands-on approach of EDI and its dedication to merging engineering and design to create innovative solutions. Through this program, Michelle hopes to grow as a designer and inventor while developing impactful projects that will serve as a foundation for creating meaningful change.
