About

Alex chose to pursue a career in human-centered design for three reasons: to connect, to understand, and to improve the quality of life of humans. She is passionate about designing with empathy and discovering ways in which to humanize technology so it can positively impact lives. Interested in the intersection of design, technology, and healthcare, Alex is passionate about creating technologies that promote well-being and foster trust and reliance within the healthcare industry. From her background in cognitive science, Alex is particularly interested in deeply understanding human cognition and behavior in order to design thoughtful, human-centered technological products.

Why EDI?

Once Alex decided during her third year of undergrad to switch from pursuing a career in medicine to human-centered design, she knew she wanted to immerse herself in the field before joining the workforce. Alex was drawn to the EDI program for its “Areas of Interest” structure that allow her to not only create a specialized learning environment, but also help her develop into a T-Shaped designer. Alex is excited for the opportunity to explore healthcare, UI/UX, and design research as part of the EDI Program.
