About

Alyssa Rizzolo is a thesis mentor in Northwestern University’s MS Engineering Design Innovation (EDI) program and an adjunct instructor for the undergraduate Design Thinking and Doing course.

Her work spans complex, multi‑level organizational challenges at the intersection of technology, leadership, and human experience.

Alyssa is currently a Senior UX Researcher at Microsoft, where she leads UX research for Viva Insights. Her work focuses on helping leaders navigate and drive AI transformation in their organizations to generate business value from their AI investments. She previously led UX research for Viva Glint and Viva Pulse, supporting leaders in improving employee engagement and organizational health.

Before Microsoft, Alyssa worked at 3M, designing health technology systems to reduce physician burnout, support preventive care, and strengthen global health information systems.

Across her industry and academic roles, Alyssa brings a human‑centered, systems‑level perspective to research, design, and mentorship, helping organizations navigate change with clarity and intention.
