About

Gretchen Gscheidle teaches, practices, and leads others in the business of design. A globally-minded and culturally-sensitive thought leader with on-the-ground customer engagements in 50 domestic & 17 international markets from Anchorage, Alaska to Tasmania, Gretchen Gscheidle cut her teeth at global innovation brand Herman Miller. After earning her Masters degree at Northwestern, Gretchen was promoted to Herman Miller’s R+D Leadership Team, stewarding the corporate research function and design studios. Her commercialized products generate more than $800M annual revenue and have won 52 awards (and counting) fueling broader business growth and setting multiple industry reference points for design, performance and lasting value.

In 2019 Gretchen initiated a career pivot. After checking several items off her bucket list, she thoughtfully and thoroughly contemplated what she enjoys, what she's good at, and how she wants to contribute to the world in the sequel to her extraordinary Herman Miller career. The answer has thus far been a portfolio career including teaching undergraduate engineering students at her alma mater. Gretchen enjoys the variety of advising startups, consulting for established enterprises, teaching university students and volunteering with organizations devoted to causes that are important to her personally.
