DSGN 395: Design Research - Learning to See People and Their Patterns

Quarter Offered

Winter : Wednesday, 6-9 pm. Hive Annex, Ford 2.340 ; George Aye

Description

This class is built on the human-centered design process as a foundation and focuses on the early phases of human-centered design (HCD): namely Framing, Research, and Synthesis. This class also emphasizes social issues that are proximal and accessible to students at Northwestern. Robust discussions around several readings will challenge students on their current understanding of HCD practice, exposing the limitations, liabilities, and potential for harm presently in the field of design research and HCD at large. This course is open to all Northwestern students. Back to top
