Ross BlackwellJob before MMM: Product Operations Manager at Qualtrics

Why did you choose MMM?

When I was looking at MBA programs, the MMM program immediately stood out to me because of its unique combination of theory and application. It offers not only a strong business education from Kellogg but also hands-on experience applying those skills, along with human-centered design principles, to real-world challenges. Through courses like Research, Design, Build (RDB) and Business Innovation Lab (BIL), students work directly with clients on meaningful business problems and learn by doing.
Another unique aspect of MMM is its small, tight-knit cohort of 70 students who start in the summer. This early start fosters a strong sense of community and provides a unique opportunity to bond while enjoying Chicago’s best season.

What is life like as a MMM student?

Life as a MMM student can be a bit chaotic but it's always interesting and a lot of fun! MMM and Kellogg provide so many opportunities that it’s a constant juggling of priorities and running between commitments, but it's certainly never boring.
A typical week includes attending classes, grabbing coffee or lunch at the Hub, stopping by the MMM lounge to catch up with friends, attending club meetings, joining a speaker series, going for a bike ride with Kellogg classmates, and wrapping up the day with a small group dinner or drinks with friends.

What have you loved about your MMM experience?

My MMM experience has been incredible so far, largely because of the amazing cohort I get to learn from every day. It’s a diverse, talented group with a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and passions, and in just a short time, I’ve formed meaningful friendships and unforgettable memories.
Some of the highlights so far include summer beach volleyball, the MMM retreat to Michigan City, RDB, weekly bike rides, small group dinners, and the bowling league. Each of these experiences has reinforced the strong sense of community that makes MMM and Kellogg so special.
