The information below has driving directions and public transportation options to get to the Evanston campus. The Ford Motor Company Engineering Design Center is located on the east side of Sheridan Rd. between Garrett Place and Haven Street at 2133 Sheridan Rd, south of Noyes Street.

Parking lots are located adjacent to Garrett Place and Noyes Street. If you were given a parking permit, please rub off the date of usage and hang it from the rear-view mirror of your car (facing out). Do not park in any posted reserved parking spots or you will be towed.

Driving to the Evanston Campus

From Chicago/ Lake Shore Drive

  • Take Lake Shore Drive North
  • Where Lake Shore Drive becomes Hollywood Ave. turn right onto Sheridan Rd. (3.3 miles)
  • Stay straight to go on South Blvd. (0.4 miles)
  • Turn right at Chicago Ave. (1.7 miles)
  • Chicago Ave. becomes Sheridan Rd.

From O'Hare International Airport

  • Follow outbound traffic to get on I-294/ The Tri-State Tollway North and follow the "To Milwaukee" signs.
  • Exit at Dempster St. East (9.6 miles)
  • Turn left at Chicago Ave.
  • Chicago Ave. becomes Sheridan Rd.

From Midway Airport

  • Turn left out of the airport to go north on Cicero Ave. (2 miles)
  • Merge onto I-55 N/ Stevenson Expressway N. (7 miles)
  • Take the US-41 N/ Lake Shore Drive exit on the left and merge onto Lake Shore Drive. (10 miles)
  • Where Lake Shore Drive becomes Hollywood Ave. turn right onto Sheridan Rd. (3.3 miles)
  • Stay straight to go on South Blvd. (0.4 miles)
  • Turn right at Chicago Ave. (1.7 miles)
  • Chicago Ave. becomes Sheridan Rd.

From the North

  • Take I-94 E/ Edens Expressway E toward Chicago.
  • Exit at Skokie Rd./ Exit 34A (0.5 miles)
  • Turn left at Lake Ave. (2.2 miles)
  • Turn right at Green Bay Rd. (1.2 miles)
  • Turn left at Central St. (1.1 miles)
  • Turn right at Sheridan Rd.

From the West or Northwest

  • From I-88 E, I-90 E, or I-190 E, merge onto I-294/ The Tri-State Tollway North towards Wisconsin.
  • Exit at Dempster St. East (9.6 miles)
  • Turn left at Chicago Ave.
  • Chicago Ave. becomes Sheridan Rd.

From the West or Southwest

  • If coming from I-80 E, merge onto I-55/ Stevenson Expressway North at the interchange.
  • Take I-55 N/ Stevenson Expressway N.
  • Take the US-41 N/ Lake Shore Drive exit on the left and merge onto Lake Shore Drive. (10 miles)
  • Where Lake Shore Drive becomes Hollywood Ave. turn right onto Sheridan Rd. (3.3 miles)
  • Stay straight to go on South Blvd. (0.4 miles)
  • Turn RIGHT at Chicago Ave. (1.7 miles)
  • Chicago Ave. becomes Sheridan Rd.

From the South or Southeast

  • South of Chicago, highways I-57, I-80, and I-90 all merge with I-94 W.
  • Take the Edens Expressway/ I-94 exit toward Milwaukee. (6 miles)
  • Exit Dempster St. East (5miles)
  • Turn left at Chicago Ave.
  • Chicago Ave. becomes Sheridan Rd.

Public Transportation to the Evanston Campus

Via the Metra Commuter Train

  • Take the Metra/ Union Pacific North Line
  • Get off at Davis Street, Evanston
  • Go East on Davis Street.
  • Turn left at Benson Ave.
  • Turn right at Emerson St.
  • Turn left at Sheridan Rd.

Via the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) "El" Train

From the South
  • Take the “Red Line” North to Howard.
  • At Howard St., transfer to the “Purple Line” North towards Linden.
  • Exit at the Noyes St. stop and take a left out of the station.
  • Go 2½ blocks East on Noyes St. to Sheridan Rd.
  • Follow the “Once you’re on campus” directions.
From the North

Take the “Purple Line” toward Howard and get off at Noyes St. Follow the directions above to get to Sheridan.

Via Airport Shuttle or Cab

  • The 303 Cab Company, (888) 225-5303, and Northshore Cab Association, (847) 864-7500, offer set rates of $32 from O’Hare International Airport to campus. From Midway Airport, Cab rates are $55 to campus.
  • Direct the cab driver to take you to Noyes St. and Sheridan Rd. in Evanston.
