Billy CarlsonAdjunct Lecturer

About

Billy Carlson is an adjunct lecturer and teaches DSGN 208, Design Thinking and Doing.

He currently leads a User Experience team within Health Care Service Corp (BCBS). Fueled by his passion for human-centered design, he pushes the user to the forefront of his work. Previously, he led the design and development of several mobile applications, led the design of the Artist Shops program, and facilitated many partnerships as the Director of User Experience at Threadless. Billy's passion for making started at an early age, but it wasn't until college that he became fascinated by all forms of design. He's hosted several creative events in partnership with local design groups, as well as shared his love for design thinking and practice with young, emerging designers as an AIGA Chicago Mentor. When he is not running design sprints, you can find Billy at home telling bad dad jokes to his wife and three children, or replaying the Cubs World Series win, over and over again.
